Nauryz - a holiday of peace and goodness

Within the framework of "Nauryznama" on 17 March, the Day of Honour for the Family, students of Turkmenistan`s 101 group of the specialities `Russian language and literature` and `Russian language and literature in non-Russian schools` held an event on the theme "Nauryz meiramy-a holiday of peace and goodness" to promote the traditions and customs of the peoples of the East.

All group students, starting with a greeting in Kazakh, performed a literary and musical composition in Turkmen and Kazakh national costumes, recited poems about Nauryz in Russian, and congratulated in three languages: Kazakh, Turkmen and Russian.

The Dean and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature, Professor Saule Dzhunusovna Abisheva and teachers of the Department were invited as guests of honour. Saule Dzhunusovna opened the event with congratulatory wishes to the Turkmen students. The student Zhumaev Durdimuhammet gave a blessing in Kazakh and Turkmen languages and congratulated everyone on the holiday Nauryz meiramy. During the event, students of Kazakh groups performed cues on dombra and sacral kobyz, and sang the song "Nauryz". The song "Vatan" ("Motherland") sung by all Turkmen students made a truly patriotic impression.

The song "Bracelet" performed in duet by students in national costumes became a stage play about the love of a Kazakh boy for a Turkmen girl. The Turkmen dance made an unforgettable impression with its national flavour. For both the participants and the students who were present as spectators, this event was the beginning of the celebration of Nauryz.
