Presentation of the world`s best textbooks published in the Kazakh language

 

On April 13, 2021, as part of the «Science Month 2021» event, Program of the Institute of history and law, Yerkebulan Yerzhanov and Uldana Aripzhanova presented the programme of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, N.A. Nazarbayev, «Course towards the future: modernization of Kazakhstan`s identity», focusing on the implementation of the «New Humanitarian Education. 100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language», translated as part of the project «Presentations of advanced textbooks of the world in the Kazakh language» for students of schools in the country.

 

Aripzhanova U. K. introduced the published books on cultural studies which were translated into many different languages. Among the presented and discussed books were «Ethics, theory and modern problems» by the professors Barbara McKinnon, professor of Philosophy at the University of San Francisco and Andrew Fiala, professor of Philosophy at California State University, «Semiosphere» by the Yuri Lotman, «aesthetics» by Yuri Borev, and «Orientalism» by Eduard Wadi. E.D. Yerzhanov presented and widely discussed the book by M. Hammersley and P. Atkinson «Ethnography: principles of research» which was widely discussed.

 

Teaching staff and students exchanged views, asked questions and took an active part in the textbook presentations.
