A scientific and practical seminar «Modern approaches in psychological counseling»

On December 1, 2023, the Department of «General and Applied Psychology» of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai KazNPU organized a scientific and practical seminar «Modern approaches in psychological counseling» was held for students, undergraduates and doctoral students. The Deputy Director for Science and International Relations of the Institute Marfuga Absatova, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the scientific and practical seminar.

Semyon Yesselson, President of the National Association of Existential Consultants and Therapists (Russia), head of the Existential Psychotherapy modality of the All-Russian Professional Psychotherapeutic League (APPL) of Moscow, was invited to conduct a scientific and practical seminar. He made a presentation on the topic: «Existential counseling through the «Narrative Tuning Fork» technique.

Also, the head of the Department of General and Applied Psychology Nietbayeva Gulmira made presentations at the scientific and practical seminar on the topic «Modern aspects of ensuring psychological health and well-being of students»; senior lecturers - Nadirbekova Aisha on the topic «Model of development and support for psychological well-being in clinical practice»; Sadykova Anel on the topic «The role of creativity of a psychologist in practice».

The scientific and practical seminar was rich and informative for students, undergraduates and doctoral students. During the seminar, various psychotherapeutic methods and technologies were used, a film was also watched and discussed, and psychological counseling was conducted in the «Aquarium» technology.
