Тraining seminar on «Medical and social rehabilitation of cancer patients»

In the period from June 23 to June 28, 2025, senior teachers of the Department of General and Applied Psychology of KazNPU named after Abai, practical psychologists Nadirbekova Aisha and Begaliyeva Nurgul organized and conducted a training seminar at the Republican Research Institute of Oncology and Radiology on the topic «Medical and social aspects rehabilitation of cancer patients» for oncologists, oncopsychologists, rehabilitologists and social workers.

As part of the training seminar, Candidate of Psychological Sciences Nurgul Begalieva conducted a special lesson on «Art therapy as a tool for the rehabilitation of cancer patients». During the lesson, the speaker noted the effectiveness of art therapy methods in improving the psychological state of cancer patients, emphasizing their role in activating patients` internal resources. The participants were offered practical exercises based on symbolic and projective techniques, as well as an analysis of clinical cases. The training seminar became an important platform for a deep understanding of the relationship between oncopsychology and medical rehabilitation, as well as for improving the practical skills of specialists in this field.

Candidate of Psychological Sciences Aisha Nadirbekova conducted a special lesson on «Polymodal methods of psychotherapy in the practical skills of an oncopsychologist (projective methods, gestalt, etc.)». During the lecture, the peculiarities of the application of polymodal methods of psychotherapy in oncopsychological practice, the practical effectiveness of projective techniques were considered and the elements of Gestalt therapy were demonstrated. The participants got acquainted with the possibilities of different approaches in working with patients and exchanged experiences on specific examples.
