Our chair is in the spotlight of the national newspaper «Уйгур авази»

The national newspaper «Уйгур авази», published since 1957, is one of the oldest publications that have found their regular readers, friends and make an invaluable contribution to the culture, language and literature of our multinational country. The newspaper is also one of the few and authoritative publications in the Uigur language, published not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the countries of Central Asia. Considering that the specialty «Foreign Philology: Uigur Language» taught at the university is a continuation of the «Uigur Language and Literature», it can be seen that relevant topics addressed in the article are relevant.

In the Soviet years, Abai KazNPU was one of the few universities that trained specialists in the Uigur language and literature in Central Asia at the academic level. The article contains the wish of the rector T.O. Balykbaev on improving the teaching of oriental languages, on the development strategy of the university in this direction and in general. Information is given on the current state and prospects of teaching the Uigur language and on the training of qualified personnel in Eastern languages.
