Meeting with an Afghan war veteran

 

On 19 February, 2020, at the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, a meeting was held with an Afghan war veteran, an honorary citizen of Almaty, a kind person engaged in charity work, Makhsatzhan Kakharov and a teacher of Uigur language and literature at school No. 29 of Besagash village, Almaty region, Talat Balinov.

 

Dear guests were warmly welcomed by students and teaching staff of the chair specializing in Foreign Philology: Uigur Language. After the welcoming remarks by the senior teacher of the Chair, Shariyam Baratova, students read poetry on a patriotic theme in Kazakh, Russian and Uigur languages, sang songs and danced. Then a veteran of the Afghan war held a conversation on a military-patriotic topic, answered questions from students and took an interest in their life at the university. At the end of the meeting, the guest provided financial assistance to the excellent students. He thanked the teachers and students for the invitation to this meeting, which was useful for young people in terms of moral and patriotic education. In turn, the head of the Chair, Ergali Esbosynov, thanked the guests for their responsiveness and financial assistance to the excellent students and wished everyone success. He noted that in the future such necessary and important meetings will be held.
