Scientific and Methodological Seminar on Quality Assessment of Scientific and Educational Translation

On 28 February 2025, in accordance with the calendar plan of the scientific project AP19680449 `Translation Quality Assessment: Scientific and Educational Spheres`, the project participants held a scientific and methodological seminar for the teaching staff of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of Abai KazNPU.

The reports at the seminar were made by the teachers of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Philology: Doctor of Philology, Professor Zhumabekova A.K. (head of the scientific project), Mukhitov A.Z. (scientific researcher).

The aim of the seminar was to familiarise the teachers of the above-mentioned departments with the results of internal and external evaluation of the translation quality of five textbooks on philology translated from English and Russian into Kazakh. The seminar attendees were familiarised with the algorithms of translation quality assessment in scientific and academic spheres, which can be used in the training of students, masters and doctoral students, whose specialities are related to the study and teaching of foreign languages.

The teachers listened to the speakers` reports with great interest, asked many questions, and received specific recommendations.
