On 22 October 2025, students from the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation at the Faculty of World Languages and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organised an open educational event on the topic of ‘Sustainable Development Goals for 2030’.

The joint event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of World Languages, Doctor of Philology E.T. Ospanov, who emphasised not only the relevance of the topic, but also the importance of such meetings with colleagues from other universities. The educational session was organised and conducted with the assistance of the research director of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, A.E. Alpyisbaeva, PhD, head of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation, K.H. Abdrakhmanova, Doctor of Philology, Professor A.K. Zhumabekova, Candidate of Philology, Senior Lecturer N.R. Shengelbaeva, Senior Lecturer K.T. Duisenova, as well as 4th-year students majoring in ‘6B02302 – Translation studies’.

During the educational event, there was a discussion and exchange of views on the role of cooperation in key areas of sustainable development until 2030 in solving global problems such as war, hunger and environmental protection, which are causes of deep concern in the modern world.

The students in attendance took an active part in an intellectual quiz with crossword puzzles in English based on knowledge of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
