Meetings of employers with graduates-translators

In accordance with the strategic plan of the Chair of Oriental Philology and translation of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education on the initiative professors of the department Aigul Zhumabekova 19 ana 22 April and meetings of employers with graduates in the specialty «Translation Studies».

Head of the Department Academician Kniyaz Mirzoev addressed the graduates with speech on the importance of timely employment in the specialty.

During the meeting Timur Sultanov - head of the  information office of the Tourist information centre of VisitAlmaty  made a speech in front of the students. He spoke about the activities  of this company engaged in the development of tourism in our city,  which has about 10 information points located in the places of the  congestion of citizens and tourists (airport, railway stations,  Tourist hub, etc.). Here tourists get all the information products in  he form of city maps, guides, tours; book guides and excursions in foreign languages.

Answering the questions of graduates, he noted that recruitment to the  company is carried out regularly. One of the main requirements is  fluency in three languages - Kazakh, Russian and English. Knowledge of  other languages is welcome, so the translators in the field of tourism are needed a lot.

The recruitment specialist Mariam Toreeva made a presentation on the  activities of a large international recruitment Agency FIRCROFT, which has a huge database of vacancies (including in the field of translation) at the request of various companies, for example, such well-known as: Tengizchevroil, NCOC, Kaz Minerals, BDO, Arcellor Mittal, and also held a master class for undergraduates on CV writing and the peculiarities of demonstrating the personal qualities.

Graduates of the master`s degree of «Translation Studies» with great interest received information about potential employment, asked  questions and participated in the meetings actively.
