Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation improves research work

The research work of the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology is carried out by the Teaching staff of the department, as well as by students and master`s degree students according to previously adopted plans.

The degree of teaching staff of the department is 45%.

Relevance, novelty of research work, uniqueness of scientific topics. All the topics that the teachers of the department are working on are relevant and related to the need to develop new approaches in the training of future translators, as well as teachers of foreign languages.

The main directions of the chair`s research work are topics related to the theory and methods of teaching oriental, Romano-Germanic languages and translation, as well as the history of modern oriental languages, stylistics, dialectology, culture of speech: «Relationships and interaction of national literatures», «Translation technology», Actual problems of the theory and practice of translation», «Translation and intercultural communication».

The teachers of the department constantly cooperate with scientific and higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, such as: Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazNU named after Al Farabi, Abylai Khan KazUIRandWL, Suleiman Demirel University, Kazakh Women`s National Pedagogical University, Eurasian National University named after I.L.Gumilyov, Kazakh branch of the Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov (Astana), Department of Oriental Studies of the Higher School of Economics (Moscow), Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Samara State Social and Pedagogical University (Russia).

The teaching staff carries out scientific cooperation with leading scientific schools of international relations: joint activities are carried out with the Pedagogical University of Freiburg, with the University of Aix-Marseille, with professors of the Pedagogical University of Freiburg-prof. H-V. Huneke, prof. N. Hann, prof. M. Schöler, prof. G. Spaner.

The department works closely with schools and other educational institutions in RK.
