Webinar «Batyr tusa el irisy»

 

On May 16, 2020, at the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography, according to the annual plan a webinar «Batyr tusa el irisy», dedicated to the memory of a prominent military commander and writer Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, was held.

 

The purpose of the event is to encourage youth to patriotic education, work and knowledge.

 

Ardak Aldasheva, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography, Ecology and Tourism, Nurlan Manapov, Deputy Director for Educational Work, as well as tourism students, attended the webinar.

 

Bauyrzhan Momyshly - Hero of the Soviet Union, writer. During the Wehrmacht`s second general offensive against Moscow from November 16 to 18, 1941, a battalion of senior lieutenant Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, heroically in isolation from the division, fought on the Volokolamsk highway near the village of Matryonino. The skillful leadership of the battalion commander allowed the Germans to be detained at this line for 3 days. After that, senior lieutenant Momyshuly brought the battalion out of the circle combat-ready. In 1956, with the rank of colonel, he was transferred to the reserve. Returning to Alma-Ata, he devoted himself completely to literary work. He is the author of the books «Aitys», «Moscow is behind us», «Travel Essays» and many others.
