Developing Cybersecurity Skills in Older Preschool Children in the Digital Environment

On April 7, 2025, within the framework of "Science Decade - 2025," Zhanna Asankhanova, a second-year doctoral student of the educational program "8D01201 - Preschool Education and Training," together with her academic advisors Ulbosyn Kiyakbayeva and Asem Bulshekbayeva, conducted a seminar-training on the topic "Developing Cybersecurity Skills in Older Preschool Children in the Digital Environment" at Kindergarten No. 107 in the Medeu District.

The aim of the seminar-training was to familiarize participants with effective methods for cultivating a culture of cybersecurity among older preschool children in the context of active use of digital technologies, as well as to facilitate experience sharing among educators.

During the event, the following activities were conducted: a survey of educators, discussions on ways to develop safe online behavior in children, examination of the role of play-based technologies in preventing cyber threats, emphasis on the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents, and familiarization with methods of promoting digital literacy in children.

At the end of the event, handouts on cybersecurity basics were distributed to educators, and a feedback session was held. The kindergarten principal, Maiya Nusipaliyeva, expressed her gratitude to the organizers and her willingness to continue such initiatives in the future.

This seminar-training represented an important step in addressing pressing issues of digital safety in the preschool education system.
