Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency

On April 18, 2025, an important practical event was held at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, organized by the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy. The professional meeting titled "Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency" was conducted as part of the course "Social and Pedagogical Technologies for the Protection of Children`s Rights."

The event was aimed at enhancing the legal literacy of students enrolled in the 6B01801 - Social Pedagogy educational program and at developing their competencies in applying legal frameworks when working with children. The meeting served as a platform for bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application and for clarifying the legal foundations of social and pedagogical work.

The invited guest speaker was Bauyrzhan Bizhanov, an experienced lawyer and a member of the North Kazakhstan Regional Bar Association. He provided students with comprehensive legal advice regarding the protection of the rights of minors, legal liability, and preventive measures against juvenile delinquency. His presentation covered topics such as the juvenile justice system, parental responsibility, the duties of educational institutions, and the critical professional role of the social pedagogue. These were illustrated with real-life examples.

During the session, students actively engaged in discussion, posing questions related to legal issues encountered in real-life situations, and received qualified, practical guidance from the legal expert. This open-dialogue format contributed to the formation of students` legal culture, civic responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the ethics and professional standards expected of educators.

The event was organized by PhD holders and associate professors Anar Alimbekova and Assem Bulshekbayeva, who emphasized the importance of integrating legal literacy and practical readiness into the preparation of future social pedagogues. According to the scholars, the professional potential of a student is measured not only by pedagogical knowledge but also by their ability to operate effectively within the socio-legal sphere.

This meaningful event, held within the university setting, aligned with the core educational goals of combining theoretical instruction with real-world experience, fostering legal thinking, and cultivating a strong sense of professional ethics and public accountability.

Such initiatives not only reinforce theoretical knowledge but also play a key role in the comprehensive training of students for their future careers in social and pedagogical practice, reflecting the outcomes of a systematic educational policy.
