The First Stage of the Citywide Student Competition "Socio-Pedagogical Features of Promoting National Values"

On April 28, 2025, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy, organized the first stage of the citywide student competition "Social Leadership in Shaping the Personality of a Student." The event took place at School-Gymnasium No. 168 named after K. Katykbayeva in Almaty on the topic "Socio-Pedagogical Features of Promoting National Values."

The main objective of the competition was to foster social responsibility, active civic engagement, and leadership qualities among students through the promotion of national values. The competition also aimed to develop students` creative potential, increase their interest in participating in school and community initiatives, and support their personal growth.

During the event, students presented various creative works dedicated to national values, including theatrical performances, projects, video clips, and presentations. From a socio-pedagogical perspective, these activities contributed to enhancing students` cognitive activity, developing creative thinking skills, and strengthening teamwork abilities.

The citywide competition was organized within the framework of the industrial (pedagogical) practice of 4th-year students enrolled in the educational program 6B01801 - Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge. The interns actively participated in the development of the competition`s content, preparation of participating teams, and facilitation of the organizational processes. This experience served as an important platform for developing the professional competencies of future social pedagogues.

The organization and execution of the competition were supervised by PhD, Associate Professor Anar Alimbekova; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Nazira Atemkulova; and PhD, Associate Professor Assem Bulshekbayeva. During the event, they objectively evaluated the students` creative works and provided feedback based on social and pedagogical criteria.

At the opening ceremony, the Head of the Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ulbossyn Kyyakbayeva emphasized the importance of collaboration between the university and schools, expressing gratitude to the teaching staff and students.

In turn, Gaukhar Zhurynova, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of School-Gymnasium No. 168 named after K. Katykbaeva, thanked the university for its contribution to the professional training of future social pedagogues, highlighting the significance of such practical initiatives.

Based on the results of the competition, outstanding students were awarded diplomas of I, II, and III degrees. In addition, special awards were presented in the categories "Best Performance," "Best Project," and "Best Video Clip," taking into account the distinctive features of the presented works.

The organization of this citywide competition contributed to fostering students` respect for national values, promoting social engagement, and served as a significant practical platform for enhancing the professional competencies of future social pedagogues.
