Second Stage of the Citywide School Student Competition “Teen Stress – Causes, Consequences, and Prevention”


On April 29, 2025, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, and the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy organized the second stage of the citywide school student competition titled "Social Leadership in the Formation of the Student`s Personality". The event was held at Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 202 in Almaty and focused on the theme "Teen Stress - Causes, Consequences, and Prevention."

 

The main goal of the competition was to prevent stress conditions among students, to teach them how to recognize, resist, overcome, and prevent stress through support, and to cultivate skills of positive thinking. In addition, the competition aimed to spark students` interest in scientific research and to foster the development of confident and leadership-oriented personalities.

 

During the event, students presented various creative projects addressing the topic of stress: theatrical performances, research projects, video clips, and presentations. From a social-pedagogical perspective, these works contributed to the development of students` creative abilities, the formation of their intellectual potential through innovative ideas, and the strengthening of teamwork skills.

 

Participants in the competition were awarded diplomas of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees, as well as special prizes in the categories of "Best Performance," "Best Project," and "Best Video."

 

The citywide competition was implemented as part of the industrial (pedagogical) practice of 4th-year students from the educational program 6В01801 - Social Pedagogy and Self-Knowledge. The student trainees actively participated in organizing the competition activities, preparing the participants, and coordinating the work of the teams.

 

During the practice, professional consultation, supervision, and mentorship of the students, as well as the fair evaluation of students` creative work, award distribution, and feedback provision at the competition, were carried out by: PhD, Associate Professor Anar Alimbekova; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Nazira Atemkulova; and PhD, Associate Professor Asem Bulshekbayeva.

 

A significant contribution to strengthening collaboration between the school and the university, effectively coordinating the continuous educational process at both levels, and ensuring the high-level organization of both the competition and the pedagogical practice was made by the university administration, the director of School-Gymnasium No. 202 Zhanaykhan Bolat, as well as Deputy Directors Kurmet Shamshidinkyzy and Darkhan Kabdylov, social teacher and school psychologist Alina Amankeldievna, who was responsible for supervising the trainees at the school. The school staff created a supportive environment and actively contributed to the development of students` professional skills.
