Within the Framework of Developing Doctoral Students’ Research Potential, Dissertation Topics Were Discussed
On October 14, 2025, the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University held a scientific seminar for first-year doctoral students of the educational program “8D01201-Preschool Education and upbringing ”.The purpose of the event was to analyze the scientific relevance of the doctoral students’ dissertation topics, clarify the object and subject of research, determine methodological directions, and foster a culture of academic inquiry.The seminar was opened by the Head of the Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Ulbossyn Kyyakbayeva, who presented the department’s main research areas. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of adhering to the university’s scientific and methodological standards, as well as the need to identify the relevance of research topics and systematize the structure of dissertation work.The Chair of the seminar, PhD, Associate Professor (Acting) Anar Alimbekova, highlighted the importance of guiding doctoral students’ research endeavors and of discussing the structural and content-related aspects of their dissertations.The seminar was attended by Doctors of Pedagogical Sciences, Professors Roza Bekmagambetova, Aksaule Mankesh, Kadisha Shalgynbayeva; Candidates of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professors Galiya Taubayeva, Almagul Aitpayeva, and Nazira Atemkulova; PhD, Associate Professors Gulbanu Abitova and Aigul Akhmetova; Senior Lecturer Altynai Zhakupova, as well as the department’s teaching staff.Active participation was also shown by the academic advisor, PhD, Associate Professor (Acting) Assem Bulshekbayeva, members of the scientific seminar, and the doctoral students’ scientific supervisors. The participants conducted a comprehensive analysis of the relevance, novelty, and practical significance of the dissertation topics. The scientific supervisors and seminar members assessed the theoretical and methodological foundations of the doctoral students’ research ideas, the clarity of their goals and objectives, and provided professional recommendations for improving the quality of research.As a result of the discussion, important decisions were made aimed at enhancing the research directions of doctoral students, developing their scientific potential, and increasing the theoretical and practical significance of their dissertations.This scientific seminar contributed to strengthening the doctoral students’ research competence, professional growth, and successful implementation of the PhD program.
