Green Kindergarten: A Model for Fostering Environmental Awareness

 On October 22, 2025, a city-wide practical seminar on «Green Kindergarten: A Model for Fostering Environmental Awareness» was held at Kindergarten No.186.The seminar became a shining example of the successful implementation of the «Green Kindergarten» project in the context of developing environmental education. The experience presented is significant not only for this particular preschool but can also contribute to improving the environmental education system in the country as a whole.

The event was attended by Bibigul Tyulepbergenovna Malgazhdarova, Deputy Head of the Almaty City Education Department; Aliya Zholdasbekovna Sagieva, Head of the Preschool Education Department of the Almaty City Education Department; representatives of the Auezov District Education Departments; and preschool teachers.

Experience was also presented from the Almaty region by Bakhtygul Beisembaevna Smagulova, Head of the «Ulan» Kindergarten (Uzynagash Village, Zhambyl District), and members of the teaching staff.

As part of the seminar, Altynay Zhumbekovna Zhakupova, PhD, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University and Gulmira Beisenovna Kapsanova, a second-year doctoral student, presented a report on «The Energy of Nature: Environmental Practices for Improving the Health of Preschoolers».

Kindergarten No. 186 actively collaborates with the Department of Preschool Education and Social Pedagogy at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, represented by Professor Aksaule Erzhenbaikyzy Mankesh and PhD and senior lecturer Altynay Zhumbekovna Zhakupova. This collaboration is being conducted within the framework of the project (ZhTN AR25795211) «The Green Kindergarten» Concept: Implementing Integrated Environmental Education in Preschool Organizations» .
