A Branch of the Department of Geography and Ecology of Abai KazNPU Opened at School-Lyceum No. 143 Named After Suyinbai

On April 11, 2025, a branch of the Department of Geography and Ecology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University was opened in Almaty at School-Lyceum No. 143 named after Suyinbai. The event was held as part of Science Week 2025, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Abai, and was organized to reinforce students` theoretical knowledge and promote the exchange of experience in the professional training of future specialists between universities and secondary schools.

The event was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography, Professor Kulyash Kaimuldinova; Deputy Director of the Department of Academic Affairs of Abai KazNPU, Tolkyn Auelgazina; Deputy Dean for Research Nurzhanat Shakirova; Head of the Department of Geography and Ecology, Duman Aliaskarov; and faculty members of the department.

Fourth-year students of the "6B01516 - Geography and History" program from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography, currently undergoing teaching practice at the lyceum (practice supervisor - Associate Professor Talgat Uvaliev), are conducting innovative lessons using modern teaching methods and artificial intelligence at the intersection of education and technology. As part of the event, guests attended integrated open lessons conducted by the trainee students using AI: a Geography class in the 10th grade and a Natural Science lesson in the 6th grade greenhouse, held under the "Green School" initiative.

The opening of the first-ever branch of the Department of Geography in Kazakhstan at School-Lyceum No. 143 named after Suyinbai marked a significant milestone ahead of the school`s 90th anniversary. In this regard, special thanks are extended to the school-lyceum`s principal, Omirbek Aituganuly, and geography teachers: Orynkul Alpysskizy, Mainur Ybraimzhanqyzy, Ardak Tilepaldyqyzy, and Manat Aldibekuly.
