Master class "Modern paradigm of geographical sciences"


On April 10, 2025, as part of the traditional Science Week dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbayuly, a presentation was held for students majoring in Geography at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai. Master class on the topic "Modern paradigm of geographical sciences" the event was held by doctoral students of the educational program "8D01515-Geography" under the guidance of Professor Karbaeva Sholpan Shaikenovna.


Strengthening the educational potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan is aimed at improving the quality of training of future teachers in order to meet the needs of modern society.


In this regard, to the question, what should be the model of a modern TEACHER or PEDAGOGUE? - our future pedagogical specialists:
A modern TEACHER or EDUCATOR is an inclusive teacher who can use a variety of teaching methods; "A student must be a creative, innovative PERSON, capable of achieving learning outcomes through methods and approaches that are student-centered, individual-centered and practice-centered," they answered.


The objective of the master class was to deepen the knowledge of future specialists regarding current trends in the development of geographical science, to introduce innovative methods and technologies in education, to enhance practical skills, and to foster intellectual exchange.


Outcomes of the master class:
- Participants advanced their theoretical understanding and improved practical competencies related to new paradigms in geographical science, as well as contemporary educational methods and technologies;
- They developed creative thinking skills by implementing innovative ideas and evaluating the outcomes of their work;
- They engaged in meaningful discussions and shared experiences aimed at professional and personal development;
- Throughout the master class, attendees gained hands-on experience and acquired new methodological tools and techniques.


Educational activities of this nature, aimed at promoting scientific and pedagogical endeavors and increasing public awareness of achievements and innovations in education, provided a valuable platform for discussing pressing issues in geographical science and for scholarly exchange.


Participants: Students of the educational programs 7M01515-Geography and 7M05203-Geography, and the academic staff of the department.
