In 2008, she defended her PhD thesis on the specialty 13.00.01- General pedagogics, history of pedagogics and education,  ethnopedagogics on the topic "«Formation of teaching orientation of college   students by means of  out-of-class educational work» (оn the basis of the materials of speciality «Music-Pedagogy»  in pedagogical colleges) at the Academic Council of Karaganda state University. E.Buketova (KarGU), received the degree of candidate of pedagogical Sciences.

Since 2010, he has been working as a senior lecturer at the Department of "Preschool education and social pedagogy", the Institute of pedagogy and psychology of the Abay Kazakh national pedagogical University;

Since 2014, he has been working as an associate Professor at the University.

- modern problems of social pedagogy;

- musical and aesthetic education of preschool children;

- problems of social and pedagogical work in secondary vocational education institutions (colleges).

Since 1999, Atemkulova N.O. regularly publishes articles in periodicals of international, national, and University scientific conferences related to educational problems. He has more than 130 scientific articles and 3 impact factors published in the countries of the near and far abroad (USA, Turkey, UK, Czech Republic, Poland, UAE (Dubai), Sofia (Bulgaria), Russia, Kyrgyzstan, etc.).
