The Chair of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan is a promising structure with high scientific potential in preserving inter-ethnic harmony, intercultural dialogue and further consolidation of the people of Kazakhstan.

The Center of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of Abai KazNPU was opened on May 23, 2018. A Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and Abai KazNPU was signed. The Memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the Association of Departments of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Economics, Professor A.A. Bashmakov and the Rector of Abai KazNPU, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor T.O. Balykbayev.

The structure of the center of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is determined by the staffing schedule of the university, the work is carried out in accordance with internal regulatory documents. The head of the center is candidate of historical, doctor of political sciences Zh.K. Simtikov.

The Center of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan as a structural unit of the university is under the supervision of the vice-rector for social development. The material base of the department is at the proper level. Taking into account the political content of the department, it is provided with educational, methodological and scientific literature.

The main goal of the center of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is further unification of society, harmonization of ethno-confessional relations, strengthening of interethnic harmony; coordination of educational and research work of ethno-political direction; development of unified methodological and practical approaches to the promotion of the Kazakhstan model of public harmony.

Activities and tasks of the center of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan:
- strengthening of interethnic, intercultural relations;
- sociological factor - study of ways of mastering the state language;
- coordination of educational and research work of ethno-political orientation;
- consideration of ways of compromise to resolve social contradictions arising in society;
- commitment to tolerance;
- development of methodological recommendations for the introduction of special courses in the educational process;
- study of the ethno-cultural, ethno-political sphere;
- management of the Student Assembly «Dostyk Live».

The main directions of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Center:
- educational and methodological work;
- scientific research;
- social and educational work;
- providing information and explanatory work at the university on the implementation of ethnopolitical problems.

Communication with authorized bodies. Systematic, ongoing work is carried out with the Association of the Assembly Departments, the Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research, ethnocultural associations of Almaty and the office of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Almaty region.

Guest lectures of members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan are held on the basis of the center.

The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan Center cooperates with all structural divisions of Abai KazNPU, namely: with the Department of Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy of Abai KazNPU, and permanently supervises the «Dostyk Live» Student Assembly.

Among the students of our university there are representatives of more than 22 nationalities, all of them actively participate in the creation of youth organizations, in intercultural associations of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. As part of the implementation of the Main Directions and Priorities of the National Policy of the State, the university has been actively involved in strengthening interethnic and inter-ethnic harmony in our region since independence.
