Literary evening dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Boris Pasternak

On February 7, 2020, the city`s literary community, students and schoolchildren met in the cultural center of the publishing house Almatykitap Baspasy to express their admiration for the fate of the famous Russian writer and poet Boris Pasternak and their love for his work.

The evening was opened by the President of the Almatykitap Baspasy Publishing House, Gaukhar Saymasaeva. In her emotional word, she shared her own attitude to the work of B. Pasternak and noted that the publisher is involved in introducing young people to the name of this poet. During the evening, a presentation of the school textbooks of this publishing house for grade 11 was held, in which there are chapters dedicated to Boris Pasternak.

This topic was continued by one of the authors of the textbooks, associate professor of Abai KazNPU Zinaida Polyak. She touched little-known pages of the poet`s biography. The poem «Date» that has been performed will remain in the memory of the young participants of the evening for a long time.

High school students of Lyceum No. 165 (supervisor - Marina Asylbekova) performed a literary composition based on poems by B. Pasternak. Their sincere young voices prove: this poetry is still modern.

The evening was decorated with the participation of Irina Pereverzeva, Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty, deputy head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Russian diplomat is a longtime friend of Abai KazNPU and a participant in many interesting meetings with young people. This time, Irina Vladimirovna shared her memories of her acquaintance with the work of Boris Pasternak in those years when it was banned.

So the cooperation of the famous publishing house, the Consulate of the Russian Federation, schools and universities of Almaty allowed this memorable meeting to take place.
