Visiting Alexander Blok

On November 20, 2020, at the invitation of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, students of the specialty «Philology» and senior pupils of the Specialized Lyceum № 165 attended a specially organized online excursion at the Museum-Apartment of the poet Alexander Blok in St. Petersburg (Russia).

The tour guide Irina Apollonova led her guests through the rooms of the apartment, where A. Blok`s writing desk is preserved, where a portrait of his wife and muse, Lyubov Mendeleeva, hangs. Excursion participants admired the view from the apartment window to the «icy ripples of the canal» (words from the famous poem «Night, Street, Lantern, Pharmacy») and admired the rich library of the famous Russian poet.

The participants of the excursion were grateful to the museum staff for the opportunity to see with their own eyes the environment in which the poet lived and worked. Now the personality and poetry of Alexander Blok have become dearer and closer to us.
