Visiting the Silver Age

On April 11, 2019 an unusual meeting at the Russian Language and Literature Department took place. Owing to the time travel prepared by the first-year students, students and teachers were transported to the beginning of the XX century, to Petrograd, to the literary and artistic cabaret «The Basement of a Stray Dog».

In the theatrical performance among the visitors of this legendary cafe, viewers recognized Alexander Blok and Anna Akhmatova, Vladimir Mayakovsky and Zinaida Hippius, Marina Tsvetaeva, Sergey Yesenin, Boris Pasternak ...

The literary evening, held as the final event of the Decade of Science, was filled with a high spirit of creativity. Young philologists have shown that they not only love, but also understand poetry.
