Mereke Imanbekovna Uyukbaeva, born in 1956, graduated fromKazPI named after Abai, philological faculty in 1978. After the internship and postgraduate studies she defended her thesis for a Candidate of Science in IIL named after A.M. Gorky (Moscow). Since 1984 she has been working in KazNPU named after Abai.

In 2003 she received a diploma of the second higher education of Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, on specialty "Teacher of English".

In 2009 she received the academic title of Professor KazNPU named after Abai.

The owner of the grant "Bolashak" for the passage of a scientific internship at SIRL named after A.S. Pushkin in Moscow in 2010.

The author of textbooks and teaching aids for schools and universities of Kazakhstan, has more than 150 scientific and publicistic works.

Since 2012 she has been the editor-in-chief of the Republican scientific journal "Kazakh and World Literature".
