The Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University was established in 1999. It is one of the country’s fundamental educational institutions that trains pedagogical psychologists, psychologists for the education system, primary school teachers, kindergarten educators, defectologists, social educators, and teachers of the “Self-Knowledge” subject. All training programs are aimed at one goal – educating a knowledgeable, competent, healthy, and competitive young generation.

The faculty includes 6 departments, which currently offer undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs in pedagogical sciences, all highly demanded in the labor market.

The faculty is engaged in continuous development of state educational standards and expansion of international cooperation.

Material and Technical Resources:
The faculty is equipped with modern tools, computers, and interactive boards that meet current standards. Facilities include lecture halls tailored to specialties, two internet-connected computer labs, and a 40-seat reading room with over 2,000 books, periodicals, and materials from scientific-practical conferences. These resources create favorable conditions for learning and research activities.

Faculty members actively participate in developing academic standards, curricula, and teaching materials, including textbooks, electronic resources, syllabi, and teaching-methodical guides. Many are well-known scholars and educators in Kazakhstan.


Student Support and Social Initiatives:
Students showing academic excellence on tuition-based programs can apply for vacant government grants through competitive selection. The university supports students from low-income families, students with disabilities, and provides housing for more than 400 full-time students annually. Tuition discounts and Rector’s grants are regularly awarded based on students’ health or financial conditions.


Internationalization:
The faculty is committed to strengthening international partnerships. Students conduct high-level research, win grants, and become laureates in various contests. In recent years, PPF students have won top prizes in national student Olympiads in relevant fields.

The faculty maintains and enhances its collaboration with city educational institutions (schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, kindergartens, colleges) to provide students with exposure to best teaching practices.


Cultural and Extracurricular Activities:
Special attention is paid to students’ cultural and spiritual development through regular events organized by the Dean’s Office and the Mentor Council. Students frequently attend performances at M. Auezov Academic Drama Theater, G. Musrepov Youth Theater, as well as concerts, art museums, and national libraries.

Several student clubs actively operate to support extracurricular and creative activities, such as:
