Students of Abai KazNPU held an essay competition “The meaning of life – what is it?”

On May 21, 2025, the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University held an essay competition in a mixed format, "The meaning of life - what is it?" as part of the Forum of foreign students "My future: Me yesterday. Me today. Me tomorrow".

The organizers of the competition are the Center for Intercultural Communication and World Languages of the Philological Faculty of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Saule Bayazovna Begalieva), Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean Akzholova Aktoty Toleumuratovna; Master of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Issaliyeva Saule Temirbaevna), KSU "Lyceum No. 134" (educational psychologist Venera Konstantinovna Okasova) and the Eurasian Scientific and Methodological Journal "East-West" for master`s and doctoral students, with the support of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Zhetysu University named after I. Zhansugurov.

Moderators of the competition are 3rd (3rd year) and 4th year students of the educational program 6B01101 - Pedagogy and Psychology Askarova Milana, Osina Lyubov, Zavodovskaya Victoria. Experts (jury) are 11th grade students Ibraimov Sultanali, Polyakova Sofia, Babayev Sultan, Tatarkin Ivan.

The competition participants presented reports, answered questions, argued and discussed; mutual interest and lively dialogue demonstrated the effectiveness of the new format, when students were assessed by schoolchildren, and teachers acted as observers and gave feedback.

Then, on the interactive board, those present visualized the theme of the competition, putting their meanings, dreams and ideas into it. It turned out to be very fun and interesting, using new ZOOM capabilities and tools for collaboration.

At the end, the results of the competition were summed up, all speakers received diplomas and certificates, and experts and moderators were awarded certificates and thanks.
